Job summary

GEI Consultants, Inc in Oakland, CA is seeking a Staff Civil Engineer to join our growing water resources engineering practice. You will work on dams, levees, pipelines, and open-channel conveyance systems across Northern California and the United States, developing technical and practical engineering skills.

You will perform calculations, prepare drawings in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, contribute to reports, and collaborate with senior staff while traveling to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of civil engineering principles and design methods.
• Ability to perform engineering calculations and prepare accurate documentation.
• Developing independence with increasing guidance as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform civil engineering calculations, analyses, data evaluation and interpretation, modeling, and design tasks under the direction of experienced engineers.
• Prepare engineering drawings and design documents using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Prepare technical memoranda, portions of engineering reports, design calculations, construction drawings, technical specifications, cost estimates, schedules, and other project documentation for review.
• Coordinate with project team members and communicate progress to Task/Project Managers.
