Job summary

GEI Consultants, Inc. in Oakland, CA seeks a Staff Civil Engineer to join its water resources practice. The role offers hands-on design, calculations, and field support on complex infrastructure projects across Northern California and beyond.

You will perform Civil 3D/AutoCAD design, data analysis, and engineering documentation under supervision, with opportunities to advance toward licensure and independent responsibilities as you gain experience.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain it within a set timeframe.
• 0–4 years of relevant civil engineering experience.
• Ability to perform engineering calculations and interpret technical data.
• Willingness to perform field work and travel as project needs require.

Responsibilities

• Perform civil engineering calculations, analyses, data evaluation and interpretation, modeling, and design tasks.
• Support planning and design of dams, spillways, levees, pipelines, and open-channel conveyance systems.
• Prepare drawings and design documents using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Prepare technical memoranda, reports, calculations, specs, and cost estimates for review.
• Organize tasks, manage time, and complete work within scope, schedule, and budget.
• Coordinate with project team and stakeholders to complete assigned work.
