Job summary

Wood Rodgers seeks a Project Engineer for its Water Resources/Flood & Drainage team in Orange, CA. The role targets engineers with 5–8 years in water resources who can lead modeling studies and support public agency projects across California.

You will develop and apply hydrologic and hydraulic models, GIS databases, and data-driven analyses to tackle flood risk reduction and climate resilience challenges.

Qualifications

• The candidate must be a California Professional Engineer (PE) with 5 years in water resources.
• Experience in hydrologic/hydraulic modeling and flood studies using the listed software.
• Strong data-driven analysis, technical writing, and client communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop hydrologic and hydraulic models for storm drain, watershed, floodplain, pump station, and flood control projects.
• Calibrate, validate, and maintain engineering models using historical rainfall, flow data, and field measurements.
• Perform flood risk, drainage capacity, and infrastructure deficiency analyses.
• Prepare technical memoranda, reports, and client presentations.
• Coordinate with agencies, clients, and project stakeholders; support plans and specs.
