Job summary

Wood Rodgers, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer for the Flood & Drainage team in Denver, CO. The role focuses on hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, flood risk reduction, and resilient infrastructure with 5–8 years of water resources experience.

You will work on stormwater systems, flood control facilities, drainage master plans, pump stations, and FEMA studies, using GIS and advanced modeling tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and 5+ years of water resources experience.
  • Colorado PE license or ability to obtain.
  • Experience with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling and FEMA studies.
  • Proficient in ArcGIS Pro and GIS data management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop hydrologic and hydraulic models for storm drain, watershed, floodplain, pump station, and flood control projects.
  • Calibrate, validate, and maintain models using rainfall, flow monitoring, and field data.
  • Perform flood risk, drainage capacity, and infrastructure deficiency analyses.
  • Evaluate alternatives and develop CIP recommendations.
  • Develop and manage GIS databases and map products for studies.
  • Assist with FEMA flood studies and climate resilience assessments.
  • Prepare technical memoranda, reports, and client presentations.
  • Coordinate with clients, agencies, and project stakeholders.
  • Support plans, specifications, and construction documents.
