Job summary

NPAworldwide in Oakland, CA is seeking a Project/Civil Engineer to join our Flood & Drainage team. This role targets an engineer with 3–8 years of water resources experience, focusing on hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, flood risk reduction, and climate resilience planning.

You will build and calibrate models (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, InfoWorks ICM, XP-SWMM, TUFLOW, MIKE), analyze flood risk, support CIP development, GIS data management, and prepare technical reports for California public agencies.

Qualifications

PE licensed in California or ability to obtain licensure.
3+ years of water resources engineering experience.
Proficient in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and GIS.
Experience supporting FEMA studies, CIP, and climate resilience.

Responsibilities

Build, calibrate, validate, and maintain engineering models using rainfall, flow, and field data.
Perform flood risk, drainage capacity, and infrastructure deficiency analyses.
Develop CIP recommendations and support master plans.
Develop GIS databases and map products for engineering studies.
Prepare technical memos, reports, and client presentations.
Coordinate with clients, agencies, and stakeholders.
Assist with plans, specifications, cost estimates, and construction documents.
