Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Construction Inspector to join our Water-US North Central team in Toledo, OH. You will perform field inspections, generate daily reports, and ensure contractor compliance with plans and specs on water infrastructure projects.

With a minimum of five years in construction inspection and an Associate’s degree in a related field, you will support QA/QC, coordinate field tests, prepare turnover documentation, and assist with change orders.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of construction project inspection experience required.
• Successful completion of Associate’s Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Technology or Construction Management is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide single-point field inspection of the construction contractor’s work representing the Construction Manager in the field on water infrastructure projects.
• Monitor the construction contractor’s work and prepare a comprehensive written Daily Report with descriptions of all activities.
• Inspect and verify contractor compliance per procedural manuals and Specifications.
• Communicate with contractors regarding conformance or non-conformance to standards.
• Review construction issues potentially impacting the work and changes to the contract.
• Review and maintain master as-built and record drawing information.
• Attend Progress Meetings with Contractor and review progress vs. schedule.
• Assist with developing project-specific QA/QC documents and standards.
• Plan and coordinate all field testing and inspections per Contract Documents.
• Review test reports for turnover documentation to Owner.
• Prepare reports documenting QA/QC inspections, non-compliance notices, and corrective actions.
• Assist with authorized Force Account change order work with documentation of resources.
• Review monthly progress pay estimates for accuracy of materials, percent complete and earned value.
• Prepare and monitor a project punch list for deficient or uncompleted work.
