Job summary

Stantec seeks a Construction Inspector to field-inspect water infrastructure projects, document activities, and ensure QA/QC compliance. You will liaise with owners, coordinate field testing, and prepare detailed daily reports.

The role requires at least six years of inspection experience and an associate degree (construction-related preferred). Location spans MN and other sites, with full-time hours and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six (6) years of construction project inspection experience required.
• Associate’s Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, or Construction Management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide single-point field inspection of the construction contractor’s work representing the Construction Manager in the field on water infrastructure projects.
• Act as point of contact to Owner in the field, and represent Stantec in positive light to clients.
• Monitor, inspect and document the contractor’s work and prepare a comprehensive Daily Report with observations, quantities, labor, equipment, and photos.
• Inspect and verify contractor compliance as detailed in manuals and specifications.
• Communicate with contractors regarding conformance to plans, specs and codes.
• Review and document potential changes that affect scope, time, or cost.
• Maintain master as-built drawings and turnover documentation.
• Attend progress meetings with Contractor and review progress vs schedule.
• Develop project-specific QA/QC documents and standards.
• Coordinate field testing and inspections per Contract Documents.
• Document QA/QC inspections, non-compliance notices, and corrective actions.
• Review monthly pay estimates for materials, percent complete, and earned value.
• Monitor and manage project punch list for deficient work.
• Perform payroll/wage interviews as required by funding.
