Job summary

City of Pasadena, TX is seeking a semi-skilled worker to perform manual tasks in wastewater line maintenance and to train junior staff. You will work on a crew to dig up and replace sewer lines, inspect pipe slopes, and use hand tools safely.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED plus relevant experience, or an equivalent combination. A Texas CDL Class B license and a good driving record are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 1 year related experience and/or training.
• Valid Texas CDL Class B and good driving record.
• Position may require moderate to heavy lifting and carrying; kneeling, crouching and bending; pushing, pulling and reaching; and standing for prolonged periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual tasks at a semi-skilled level and train lower-level Utility Workers in wastewater line maintenance and construction.
• Work on crew to dig up and replace sewer lines.
• Dig, shore-up, repair and back-fill; adjust pipe to ensure proper slope.
• Assemble and disassemble barricades; use hand tools safely and correctly.
• May be subject to call-out service after hours.
• Comply with City timekeeping and attendance policy.
