Job summary

Veolia North America seeks a Plant Mechanic to maintain wastewater treatment equipment and ensure compliant operation. You will calibrate chemical feed systems, perform oil changes, lubrication, belt/pump inspections, and bearing checks while tracking equipment history.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of wastewater treatment procedures and the mechanical equipment necessary for wastewater treatment as well as knowledge of electricity, electrical circuitry and industrial electricity and basic electronics.

Responsibilities

• Maintain wastewater treatment equipment and perform periodic calibrations, scheduled oil changes and lubrication.
• Determine sources of equipment failure and decide on the most effective solution to restore operation quickly.
• Fabricate or update aging equipment using readily available components.
• Instruct Operators in proper operation of all treatment equipment and minor maintenance.
• Maintain a computer database with service history and due dates for equipment.
