Job summary

Veolia in North America is seeking an Operations Technician to monitor and operate plant and pump systems, perform routine tests and basic maintenance. The role includes field sampling, lab work, and instrument calibration, with potential for on-call shifts.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, basic math skills, and a valid driver’s license. Training on-site for required licenses and safety procedures is provided.

Qualifications

• High school or GED required; able to read, write and comprehend English.
• Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Water/wastewater license as required by site (training on site).
• May participate in 24-hour emergency on-call rotation.
• Training in operation of mechanical drives, pumps, valves, pneumatics, electronics and control systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment manually and via instrumentation following process control procedures.
• Perform CLAIR maintenance on pumps, valves, conveyors, and related equipment.
• Collect water, wastewater, and industrial waste samples; perform field tests and adjust chemical dosages.
• Perform routine lab tests and prepare reports per procedure.
• Calibrate instruments such as dissolved oxygen, pH, H2S and other sensors.
• Assist with basic repairs and housekeeping; operate vehicles and handling equipment.
• Spend 100% of time in operations environment; occasional outdoor exposure.
