Job summary

Veolia in North America is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on mechanical equipment at the wastewater treatment facility, pump stations, and CSO facilities in Louisiana. The role may require stepping in as an operator when needed.

Under the direction of the Maintenance Foreman, you will inspect equipment, troubleshoot issues, lubricate machinery, and assist with installation and setup of new equipment, including carpentry tasks and minor plumbing

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; trade school preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience with mechanical equipment in a wastewater setting preferred.
• Valid Driver's License; Grade I Wastewater Certification within 1 year of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical machinery and equipment.
• Assists in inspection and troubleshooting of plant equipment for malfunctions.
• Lubricates equipment and checks for issues; assists with installation/setup of new equipment.
• Performs minor plumbing, pipe-fitting, and carpentry tasks as needed.
• Assists with welding tasks and coordination with maintenance staff.
