Job summary

Veolia North America is seeking a WWTF Maintenance Technician in Rhode Island to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and facility systems at a wastewater treatment facility.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, read technical drawings, and respond to emergencies while ensuring regulatory compliance and safe operations. This role requires strong hands-on skills and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Two or more years of experience in industrial maintenance, municipal utilities, wastewater treatment, manufacturing, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience maintaining wastewater or water treatment equipment.
• Industrial electrical, instrumentation, PLC, SCADA, or controls experience.
• Welding, machining, fabrication, or pipefitting experience.
• Experience with pumps, blowers, centrifuges, belt presses, chemical systems, and automated process controls.
• Experience using a CMMS or electronic work-order system.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair wastewater treatment equipment and facility systems.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps, motors, blowers, compressors, and gearboxes.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and instrumentation problems.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams.
• Respond to equipment failures, alarms, spills, and emergencies.
• Maintain an inventory of tools, spare parts, lubricants, and maintenance supplies.
• Coordinate with plant operators to schedule maintenance while minimizing disruption.
• Assist contractors and inspectors working at the facility.
