Job summary

HDR is seeking a WTEM Business Class Director to lead the Wastewater Treatment and Effluent Management practice. The role will oversee technical direction, mentor staff, and coordinate with market sectors and operations to deliver complex projects.

It requires strategic thinking, strong leadership, and active engagement in HDR’s employee-owned culture. You will guide technical differentiation, client relationships, and project development while maintaining high standards for quality and safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in related field.
• Professional or Architecture/Engineering registration required for leadership roles where core service is technical design.
• Experience developing and managing diverse teams.
• Works cooperatively with other business class directors, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers on business class efforts.
• Committed to HDR values and employee-owned culture.
• Active participant in HDR's employee-owned culture

Responsibilities

• Provide company-wide leadership of technical capabilities within the business class.
• Build close working relationships with related business classes, market sectors, business groups and operations.
• Lead and participate in technical risk management through process and resource reviews, providing technical advisory services on selected projects, and claims prevention and avoidance activities.
• Drive quality assurance and control processes and coordinate with the WBG Quality Manager in those areas.
• Oversee development and application of technical tools, standards, and techniques to enhance service quality and efficiency.
• Oversee assignment of qualified, experienced staff to projects including effective use of worksharing.
• Develop strategic plans with market sector directors and provide input to leadership at multiple levels.
• Lead applied research strategy and engagement to advance WTEM capabilities and translate research into practice.
