Job summary

HDR invites a WTEM Business Class Director to shape HDR’s wastewater treatment and effluent management practice. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, drive risk management, and mentor technical leaders to deliver high-quality projects across markets.

The role emphasizes strategic development, client engagement, and active participation in industry organizations, with significant travel and a commitment to HDR’s employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field.
• Professional registration and active status is expected for leadership roles overseeing technical design.
• Experience leading diverse teams and collaborating with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide company-wide leadership of technical capabilities within the business class.
• Build relationships with related business classes, market sectors, and operations.
• Lead technical risk management and ensure QA/QC across projects.
• Oversee development and application of technical tools, standards, and techniques.
• Mentor technical leaders and coordinate staff staffing across projects.
• Support client development, proposals, and market positioning.
• Engage with industry organizations to advance HDR capabilities.
• Coordinate strategic hires and staff development across HDR locations.
