Job summary

HDR is a leading employee-owned engineering firm dedicated to delivering sustainable water solutions and resilient infrastructure. The WTEM Business Class Director will lead technical capabilities and risk management for HDR’s wastewater and effluent management programs.

The role involves mentoring staff, coordinating with multiple markets, and driving technical excellence while engaging with clients and professional organizations. Travel up to 50% is expected in a non-specific US location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in professional, architecture, or engineering field and relevant registration.
• 10+ years of experience in related field.
• Leadership of diverse teams and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Provide company-wide leadership of technical capabilities within the business class.
• Build close working relationships and coordinate with related business classes, market sectors, business groups and operations.
• Lead and participate in technical risk management through process and resource reviews, providing technical advisory services on projects.
• Drive quality assurance and control processes and coordinate with the WBG Quality Manager.
• Oversee development and application of technical tools, standards, and techniques to enhance service quality and efficiency.
• Oversee assignment of qualified, experienced staff to projects including effective use of worksharing.
• Work with market sector directors to develop strategic plan for the business class and provide input to leadership at various levels.
• Lead applied research strategy and engagement to advance WTEM capabilities and translate research outcomes into practice.
