Job summary

HDR is a leading, employee-owned firm delivering sustainable water treatment and effluent management solutions. The WTEM Business Class Director oversees technical direction, risk management and staff development across HDR’s wastewater programs.

You will shape client value, mentor technical leaders, and guide multi-disciplinary teams through complex projects. Location is non-specific with travel up to 50% and frequent collaboration across regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in related field.
• Professional registration required for leadership roles.
• Experience leading diverse teams and working with senior leadership.
• Strong collaboration with directors, operations, and marketing.

Responsibilities

• Provide company-wide leadership of technical capabilities within the business class.
• Build relationships across business classes, market sectors, and operations.
• Lead technical risk management and prevention activities.
• Drive QA/QC processes in coordination with the Quality Manager.
• Oversee development and application of tools, standards, and techniques.
• Assign qualified staff and optimize worksharing across projects.
• Develop strategic plans with market sector directors.
• Lead industry engagements and university collaborations for WTEM.
• Mentor technical leaders and oversee project delivery.
