HDR is seeking a WTEM Business Class Director to lead the Wastewater Treatment and Effluent Management program. This role guides risk management, technical differentiation, and client-facing strategy across HDR’s national scope.

You will mentor leaders, drive standard setting, and advance research collaborations to grow HDR’s WTEM practice. The role requires a Bachelor's in a relevant field, 10+ years of experience, and professional registration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in related field.
• Professional registration required for technical leadership roles (Architecture/Engineering).
• Experience developing and managing diverse teams.
• Ability to work cooperatively with HDR leadership and other directors.
• Commitment to HDR values and employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Provide company-wide leadership of technical capabilities within the business class.
• Build relationships with related business classes, market sectors, and operations.
• Lead technical risk management through reviews and advisory services.
• Drive QA/QC processes in collaboration with quality managers.
• Oversee development and application of tools, standards, and techniques.
• Mentor technical leaders and manage staffing across projects.
• Support client development, proposals, and industry engagement.
• Oversee practice groups and lessons learned for project delivery.
