Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely operate equipment at a recycling center, landfill, or transfer station. You will transfer, spread, cover, load and compact waste or soil efficiently, while adhering to safety standards.

Two years of heavy equipment operation experience and one year at OSHA-regulated sites are required; strong safety consciousness and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Two years of heavy equipment operation experience.
• One year of work at OSHA-regulated sites.
• Commitment to safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of equipment to ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Safely operate equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and front-end loader per safety standards.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and maintain operational readiness of equipment.
• Perform minor servicing and document Equipment Condition Reports; report repairs as needed.
• Follow all required safety policies and store/maintain shop cleanliness after each shift.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
