Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years experience in the waste industry.
• 1 year supervisory experience.
• SWANA certified transfer station operator within 60 days of hire for Transfer Stations.
• For Landfills: experience with horizontal baler and bobcat/forklift; training for hazardous materials handling.

Responsibilities

• Sustain a productive and motivated workforce by screening, selecting, hiring, training and developing and evaluating personnel required to meet service commitments.
• Adhere to wage and hour laws and compensate personnel according to guidelines.
• Ensure safe working conditions at each job.
• Develop and implement an effective preventive maintenance program to reduce downtime and maintenance costs.
• Schedule and conduct safety meetings and document attendees and topics; ensure safety compliance.
• Maintain necessary records.
• Manage inventory of supplies and materials.
• Operate equipment as necessary.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
