Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a site operations supervisor to safely monitor and lead all site operations and personnel. You will maintain equipment, manage safety and compliance, and drive productivity, ensuring professional relations and growth opportunities for the team.

The role emphasizes leadership, optimizing maintenance, and enforcing wage guidelines while keeping costs low and service quality high across outdoor environments with heavy, audible operations. 68k annual pay is stated.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three or more years in waste industry desired; supervisory experience required.
• SWANA transfer station certification within 60 days of hire.
• Experience with landfill operations and hazardous materials handling (training for Freon removal, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Screen, hire, train, develop and evaluate personnel to meet service commitments.
• Adhere to wage/hour laws and compensate personnel per guidelines.
• Ensure safe working conditions at each site.
• Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to reduce downtime and costs.
• Schedule and conduct safety meetings; ensure safety guidelines are followed.
• Maintain necessary records and manage inventory of supplies.
