Job summary

GFL Industries seeks a site supervisor to safely monitor and lead operations and personnel at our Jacksonville site. You will model professional conduct, ensure safety compliance, and drive reliable, efficient service.

Responsibilities include building a productive workforce, controlling costs via preventive maintenance, maintaining records, and partnering with leadership to uphold regulatory standards and continuous improvement. This role requires strong communication and hands-on leadership.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years experience in the waste industry.
• 1 year supervisory experience.
• SWANA transfer station certification within 60 days of hire for Transfer Stations.
• Landfills require experience operating baler and bobcat/forklift, plus training for hazardous materials.

Responsibilities

• Sustain a productive and motivated workforce by screening, selecting, hiring, training and developing personnel.
• Adhere to wage and hour laws and compensate personnel per guidelines.
• Ensure safe working conditions at each job.
• Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to reduce downtime and costs.
• Schedule and conduct safety meetings and document attendees and topics.
• Maintain necessary records and manage inventory of supplies and materials.
• Operate equipment as necessary.
• Conform to laws, company policies and directives from supervisors.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
