Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day waste and recycling collection operations at an assigned site. You’ll lead front-line supervisors, drivers, and helpers to drive safety, service, cost, and engagement.

Reporting to the District Manager, you will ensure route performance, fleet readiness, labor management, and regulatory compliance while building strong teams and promoting continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Must have strong financial acumen and budget awareness.
• Proven leadership of safety and regulatory compliance programs.
• Experience managing multiple routes and dispatch teams.
• Ability to coach and develop frontline supervisors and drivers.

Responsibilities

• Monitor safety, customer service, cost, productivity, and overtime metrics.
• Ensure compliance with safety, DOT, and environmental standards.
• Analyze route performance and implement corrective actions.
• Drive improvements through coaching and standardized processes.
• Collaborate with local agencies to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Lead investigations for incidents and report with safety and HR.
• Develop and mentor front-line supervisors, drivers, and staff.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Dispatch, and Customer Service.
• Manage P&L and control operational expenses.
