Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling is seeking a Region Safety Manager to lead safety programs across regional operations, including hauling, landfill, recycling, and transfer stations. You will reduce injuries, drive accountability, and align practices with federal, state, and local regulations while collaborating with Operations, Maintenance, HR, and Corporate Safety.

Responsibilities include directing safety initiatives, overseeing investigations, budgeting, and mentoring site safety personnel.

Qualifications

• Lead safety operations for the region and support managers to meet safety standards.
• Develop and monitor safety initiatives to promote a safe working environment.
• Conduct incident investigations and root-cause analyses; follow up on corrective actions.
• Ensure DOT/OSHA compliance, regulatory reporting, and safety program alignment.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day safety operations of the region and provide leadership to managers.
• Develop and monitor safety initiatives to promote a safe working environment.
• Direct and facilitate accident investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Plan and administer department budget and ensure cost effectiveness.
• Conduct ongoing health and safety inspections to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Interact with HR and Workers’ Compensation administration.
