Job summary

Kenco Group in Portage, MI is seeking a Warehouse Lead to coach and train warehouse associates, guiding daily tasks and stepping in for supervision as needed. You will oversee safety, inventory, shipping/receiving tasks, perform inspections, and ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements, with opportunities to grow in a dynamic, safety‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; able to pass a background check and drug screen.
• Minimum 2 years prior warehouse/distribution operations experience and 6 months leadership or supervisory experience in a distribution environment.
• Must be a licensed forklift operator or able to obtain a Forklift Operator license.

Responsibilities

• Train new warehouse associates and forklift drivers and conduct PIT and annual recertification training.
• Conduct EIP, performance, and maintenance observations.
• Safely operate powered industrial equipment to move products or materials for distribution; load, unload, and store materials/products in designated areas.
• Complete applicable paperwork (shipping/tracking labels) per SOPs and regulatory agencies (DOT, IATA, IMDG, etc.).
• Participate in inventory/cycle count activities and report variances to leadership.
• Perform daily safety inspections on forklift trucks.
• Ensure facility is inspection ready for SQFI, FDA, and customer needs.
• Communicate and report incidents to supervisor.
• Ensure product rotation procedures are followed.
• Review and analyze daily production reports.
• Serve as backup to other warehouse roles; other duties as needed.
