Job summary

Kenco Logistics is seeking a Warehouse Lead in Portage, MI to coach and guide warehouse associates and forklift operators. The Lead will train teams, review daily production, and provide backup to supervisors across shipping, receiving, inventory and material handling duties.

Responsibilities include conducting PIT and annual recertification training, performing safety inspections, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; pass background check and drug screen.
• At least 2 years in warehouse/distribution operations and 6 months in leadership or supervisory roles.
• Must be a licensed forklift operator or able to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Coach and train warehouse associates and forklift drivers, including PIT and annual recertification training.
• Conduct safety, performance, and maintenance observations.
• Safely operate powered industrial equipment to move products for distribution.
• Complete shipping/tracking paperwork per SOPs and regulatory guidelines (DOT, IATA, IMDG, etc.).
• Participate in inventory/cycle count activities and report variances to leadership.
• Perform daily safety inspections on forklift trucks.
• Ensure facility is inspection ready for SQFI, FDA, and customers.
• Communicate and report incidents to supervisor.
• Review and analyze daily production reports.
• Serve as backup to other warehouse roles as needed.
