Job summary

Kenco Logistics is seeking a Warehouse Lead to coach and train warehouse staff, including forklift drivers, and to support daily operations across shipping, receiving, inventory, and material handling. This role emphasizes safety, process improvements, and backup coverage for supervisors.

The Lead will perform PIT operations, conduct certifications, and help ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements while fostering a collaborative and efficient team environment in Portage, MI.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum 2 years warehouse/distribution operations experience.
• 6 months experience related leadership or supervisory experience.
• Must be a licensed forklift operator or able to obtain a Forklift Operator license.

Responsibilities

• Train new warehouse associates and forklift drivers; conduct PIT and annual recertification training.
• Coach and lead teammates in daily tasks and safety procedures.
• Operate powered industrial equipment to move products and materials.
• Complete shipping paperwork, labels, and required SOPs.
• Participate in inventory/cycle counts and report variances.
• Perform daily safety inspections on forklift trucks; keep the facility audit-ready for SQFI, FDA, and customers.
• Serve as backup to supervisor and cover other warehouse roles as needed.
