Job summary

Kenco Logistics in Portage, MI is seeking a Warehouse Lead to coach and train teammates while handling their own duties in a fast-paced distribution environment. The Lead may oversee shipping/receiving, packaging, inventory control, and general warehouse tasks, including forklift operations.

The role requires forklift certification, 2+ years of warehouse experience, and 6 months of leadership responsibilities, with a focus on safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement in daily operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred and able to pass a background check and drug screen.
• Minimum 2 years prior warehouse/distribution operations experience and 6 months experience related leadership or supervisory experience.
• Must be a licensed forklift operator or be able to obtain a Forklift Operator license.

Responsibilities

• Coach and train warehouse associates and forklift drivers.
• Safely operate powered industrial equipment to move products or materials.
• Complete shipping/tracking paperwork per SOPs and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in cycle counts and report variances to leadership.
• Perform daily safety inspections and ensure readiness for audits (SQFI, FDA, customer).
• Serve as backup to other warehouse roles as needed.
