Job summary

Kenco is seeking a Warehouse Lead in Portage, MI to coach and train warehouse associates while handling personal tasks. The role may oversee shipping/receiving, packaging, inventory control, and material handling, providing backup to the supervisor when needed.

Key duties include PIT training and certification, safety inspections, cycle counts, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Strong leadership and teamwork are essential to maintain safe, efficient warehouse operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum 2 years prior warehouse/distribution operations experience and 6 months leadership or supervisory experience.
• Must be a licensed forklift operator or be able to obtain a Forklift Operator license.

Responsibilities

• Train new warehouse associates and forklift drivers and conduct PIT and annual recertification training.
• Conduct observations (EIP, performance, maintenance).
• Safely operate powered industrial equipment to move products or materials for distribution.
• Complete applicable paperwork per SOPs and regulatory agencies (DOT, IATA, IMDG).
• Participate in inventory/cycle counts and report variances to leadership.
• Perform daily safety inspections and keep the facility inspection-ready for SQFI, FDA, and customers.
• Communicate and report incidents to supervisor and ensure product rotation.
• Review and analyze daily production reports.
• Serve as backup to other warehouse roles; perform other duties as needed.
