Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Lead Engineer to drive continuous improvement across our Montgomery, AL operations. This role focuses on data-driven CI, engineering, and automation to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost and growth with cross-functional impact.

You will lead high-impact CI projects, coach teams on lean methods, and partner with operations leadership to sustain results. Experience with PowerBI, SQL, and PDCA is preferred; travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years in warehousing, transportation or manufacturing experience required; MBA path also acceptable.
• Expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, PDCA and Value Stream Mapping.
• Strong knowledge of data analytics, labor planning, layouts and metrics.
• Proficiency with PowerBI/Tableau and database programming preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collects data, performs statistical analysis and maps processes to identify gaps.
• Leads high-impact CI projects and supports start-ups, retrofits, and expansions.
• Coaches teams in CI, QA, Lean principles and conducts Kaizen events.
• Reports progress to site leadership and recommends inventory/SC strategies.
• May supervise CI engineers and participate in hiring decisions.
