Job summary
Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Automation Engineer to identify, pilot, and deploy advanced automation technologies across distribution networks. You will collaborate with operations, IT, and design teams to validate concepts, build business cases, and lead implementation from pilot to production.
The role emphasizes data analytics, supplier coordination, and project management. Travel up to 30–40% is expected, with compensation aligned to market ranges for a salaried engineering
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field required.
- Master's Degree preferred.
- 3+ years in warehouse automation or related industrial engineering role preferred.
- Experience with automation technologies and material handling systems encouraged.
- Knowledge of CAD, WMS, and data visualization tools a plus.
- Experience in financial ROI analysis and business case development desired.
Responsibilities
- Lead automation technology selection and ROI justification for projects.
- Support SOW validation and vendor FSD checks.
- Input on design options ensuring performance and sustainability.
- Assist procurement and vendor evaluation processes.
- Coordinate project tracking, milestones and go-live activities.
- Support SAT testing and post-go-live punch list closure.
- Analyze data to optimize system performance and throughput.
- Monitor budget and communicate with stakeholders.
