Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. seeks a Warehouse Automation Engineer to identify, pilot, and deploy new automation technologies across multiple warehouse environments. You will work with operations, IT, and solution design teams to validate concepts, create ROI analyses, and drive implementation from pilot to production.

The role requires collaboration across regions and functions, including vendor coordination, project management, and data analytics to optimize performance and deliver competitive advantage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Master's degree preferred for advanced roles.
• 3+ years in warehouse automation, material handling technologies, or related fields.
• Experience with automation technologies such as sortation, AS/RS, autonomous vehicles is a plus.
• Strong data visualization and analytics capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead automation selection and validation on new business sale projects by identifying potential technologies.
• Develop ROI analyses to justify optimal solution design and project viability.
• Support design validation focusing on performance, clearance, power, cost-effectiveness, and SLAs.
• Coordinate procurement activities and vendor reviews for multiple solutions.
• Manage smaller implementation projects and track milestones, punch lists, and schedules.
• Assist with SAT testing planning and post-go-live punch list tracking.
