Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking an experienced Warehouse Automation Engineer to identify, pilot, and deploy new automation technologies across diverse warehouse environments.

You will collaborate with operations, IT, design, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions that improve efficiency and customer outcomes. The role involves RFP support, design validation, procurement, and managing projects from pilot to full deployment, with 30–40% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• Master’s degree preferred for advanced roles.
• 3+ years in warehouse automation, material handling technologies, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead automation selection and validation for projects; build ROI justifications.
• Validate vendor FSD/SOW using standardized checklists.
• Review design options for clearance, power, cost and SLA targets.
• Coordinate procurement and vendor reviews for automation solutions.
• Manage smaller projects, track milestones and punch lists.
• Support SAT testing, post-go-live hypercare and punch list closure.
• Profile data from dashboards to support optimization efforts.
• Assist in defining team strategy and personal development goals.
