Job summary

Ryder Supply Chain Solutions seeks a Warehouse Automation Engineer to identify, pilot and deploy new automation technologies across client sites, coordinating with operations, IT, and solution design teams to deliver measurable efficiency gains and competitive differentiation.

The role requires strong project management, data analytics and the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable plans, with up to 40% travel across regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
• 3+ years in warehouse automation, material handling technologies, industrial engineering or warehouse systems integration.
• 2+ years in demonstrated experience in warehouse automation.
• 2+ years in experience including sortation conveyor, goods-to-person, autonomous vehicles/robots, ASRS.
• Automation, Management Consulting, Physical & Process Robotic experience.
• Knowledge of Warehouse Management operations, data analytics, IE, warehouse types and Lean methods.
• Knowledge of material handling equipment and automation types such as forklift applications, racking, packaging devices.
• WMS and Data Visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI a plus.
• Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent knowledge.
• Experience in financial business case analysis to support ROI.

Responsibilities

• Lead automation selection and ROI justification for new business projects.
• Support automation design validation considering implementation and performance.
• Review design options for clearance, power, cost, and SLA targets.
• Assist in vendor reviews and RFQ processes.
• Coordinate project schedules, milestones, and punch lists.
• Attend status calls and ensure on-site support is optimized.
• Support SAT testing and acceptance testing.
• Profile data from dashboards to support optimization.
• Develop and execute pilot activities and PoC assessments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
