Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Automation Engineer to lead identification, piloting, and deployment of automation technologies across multiple sites. You will work with operations, IT, and product teams to demonstrate value, support RFPs, and drive scalable solutions.

The role emphasizes data analytics, project management, vendor coordination, and on-site SAT testing, with 30–40% travel and a strong focus on ROI and performance improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field required.
• Master's degree in Industrial Engineering preferred.
• 3+ years in warehouse automation or related fields.
• 2+ years in warehouse automation experience preferred.
• Experience with sortation, goods-to-person, autonomous vehicles preferred.
• Experience in financial/business case analysis preferred.
• Experience with data analytics and warehouse operations a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead automation technology selection and ROI justification for new business wins.
• Validate vendor FSD/SOW and participate in contract validation.
• Contribute to design reviews for implementation and performance.
• Support procurement of automation equipment and vendor reviews.
• Manage smaller implementation projects and track milestones.
• Coordinate on-site support and SAT testing plans.
• Analyze data to optimize systems and WMS/WES.
• Assist in strategy, budgeting, and KPI measurement.
• Troubleshoot priority issues with vendors on-site.
