Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Automation Engineering professional to identify, pilot, and deploy innovative automation technologies across operations. You will collaborate with operations, design, IT, and customer teams to demonstrate value and feasibility of new capabilities.

The role requires leading ROI-driven evaluations, validating designs, and coordinating procurement, SAT testing, and implementation support. Strong analytics and cross-functional communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related field is required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years in warehouse automation, material handling technologies, IE or warehouse systems integration; preferred.
• 2+ years in warehouse automation; preferred.
• Experience with various automation technologies (sortation, AS/RS, goods-to-person) is required.
• Familiarity with automation, management consulting, and data visualization is a plus.
• Knowledge of warehouse operations, lean methods, and CAD tools is beneficial.
• Experience with financial ROI analysis to support targeted outcomes is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead automation technology evaluation and ROI justification for new business opportunities.
• Support SOW and FSD reviews to validate vendor capabilities and gaps.
• Provide design input for implementation, including clearance, power, cost, and SLA considerations.
• Oversee automation procurement and vendor reviews for various solutions.
• Manage smaller projects and track milestones, punch lists, and CPMs.
• Coordinate SAT testing, post-go-live hypercare, and punch list closure.
• Profile data from dashboards to support system optimization and analytics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior management on strategy and budget.
