Job summary

Ryder is seeking a Warehouse Automation Engineer to identify, pilot, and deploy cutting-edge automation technologies across facilities. You will collaborate with operations, IT, and solution design teams to evaluate new capabilities and deliver measurable improvements.

This role requires hands-on project management, data analytics, and the ability to translate concepts into deployable solutions, including vendor coordination and SAT testing, with travel up to 30-40%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in warehouse automation, material handling, or warehouse systems integration.
• 2+ years in warehouse automation; experience with sortation conveyors, autonomous vehicles/robots, ASRS preferred.
• Knowledge of data visualization software such as Power BI or Tableau.

Responsibilities

• Lead automation selection and validation on new business projects by identifying potential technologies.
• Support automation project leads in developing vendor evaluations and ROI analysis.
• Assist design validation to ensure performance, cost effectiveness, and SLA targets.
• Coordinate on-site support and SAT testing plans during implementation.
• Profile data from dashboards to support system optimization.
