Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Automation SME responsible for managing maintenance programs for automation and facilities within its distribution centers.

You will oversee hourly maintenance staff and serve as a subject matter expert to improve performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of autonomous vehicle systems. The role requires leadership of maintenance strategies, PM planning, vendor coordination, and KPI reporting.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED required
• Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, engineering, or related field preferred
• 3+ years maintenance management experience supervising others
• 5+ years in automation/mechanical maintenance
• Electrical and mechanical equipment, conveyance systems and warehouse automation experience
• Background in managing vendors
• Experience using/troubleshooting automation control with WCS/WES/PLC
• Experience maintaining spare parts inventories and CMMS

Responsibilities

• Implement maintenance strategies aligned with business goals
• Monitor AGV/LGV performance, uptime and diagnostics
• Lead LGV Technicians and fault researchers; manage staff OT
• Plan PMs and repair projects; drive continuous improvement
• Direct maintenance activities including policy compliance and KPI monitoring
• Lead calibration of AGV systems (LIDAR, encoders, sensors)
• Perform RCA on recurring faults and implement corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with maintenance strategies and preventive maintenance
