Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Automation Engineering professional to identify, pilot, and deploy innovative automation technologies across customer sites.

You will collaborate with operations, IT, and stakeholders to prove value, select optimal solutions, and drive implementation from concept to go-live. The role requires strong project management, ROI analysis, and hands-on experience with warehouse automation systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in industrial/mechanical engineering or related field as required.
• Master's degree preferred for advanced roles.
• 3+ years in warehouse automation or related industries preferred.
• 2+ years in warehouse automation experience preferred.
• Experience with automation technologies (sortation, autonomous vehicles, AS/RS) preferred.
• Knowledge of warehouse operations, data analytics, Lean methods with beginner to intermediate levels.
• Familiarity with capital planning and ROI analyses.
• Experience with CAD, simulation, and data visualization tools desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead automation technology evaluation and ROI justification for new business opportunities.
• Support automation design validation and ensure performance targets and SLAs are met.
• Coordinate vendor reviews, RFPs, and scope validation with the project team.
• Manage smaller projects and track milestones, budgets, and punch lists.
• Collaborate with operations, IT, and customers to deploy warehouse automation solutions.
• Assist with SAT testing, post-go-live support, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Communicate status to stakeholders and escalate issues as needed.
