Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Automation Engineer to identify, pilot, and deploy advanced automation technologies across customer sites.

You will work with internal operations, solution design, IT, and business leaders to validate concepts, build business cases, and install scalable solutions. Responsibilities include ROI-focused solution design, vendor evaluation, and project management for smaller to mid-size implementations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field; required.
• Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field; preferred.
• 3+ years in warehouse automation, material handling tech, industrial engineering or warehouse systems integration; preferred.
• 2+ years in warehouse automation experience; preferred.
• Experience with sortation conveyors, autonomous vehicles/robots, ASRS; required.
• Knowledge of warehouse ops, data analytics, Lean methods; required.
• CAD, slotting, MOST, simulation, WMS; knowledge preferred.
• Data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead automation selection and validation on new business sale projects.
• Develop ROI and justification for optimal solution design.
• Support automation project leads on vendor FSD/SOW gaps.
• Provide input on automation solution designs for operational performance.
• Coordinate on-site support and SAT testing plans.
• Track milestones and punch list items for project execution.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across regions and functions.
