Job summary

Socotra, Inc. in the United States is seeking a VP South Central Zone Leader to drive underwriting excellence, growth, and profitability across the region.

You will lead underwriting operations, manage a regional team, and partner with executive, product, actuarial, claims, and distribution teams to hit growth while maintaining discipline. You will recruit and develop talent, set strategy, monitor KPIs, and foster broker relationships to expand market share.

Qualifications

• 5-10+ years of commercial casualty underwriting experience.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing underwriting teams and regional operations.
• Strong technical underwriting expertise with the ability to evaluate complex casualty risks.
• Proven success leading profitable growth within a wholesale distribution model.
• Strong understanding of portfolio management, pricing, and underwriting profitability.

Responsibilities

• Lead all underwriting operations and business performance for the South Central Region.
• Develop and execute regional business plans that deliver profitable premium growth while maintaining underwriting discipline.
• Own regional production, profitability, portfolio management, and service objectives.
• Monitor regional KPIs, submission flow, hit ratios, pricing adequacy, loss trends, and overall portfolio performance.
• Identify growth opportunities, market trends, and competitive dynamics to drive strategic decision making.
• Represent the South Central Region with executive leadership and provide regular updates on performance, opportunities, and risks.
