Job summary

Ledgebrook is seeking a Vice President, Southwest Zone Leader to drive underwriting excellence, profitability, and growth across the region. You will lead a team of underwriters, shape strategy, and partner with product, actuarial, claims, and distribution to achieve ambitious objectives.

This executive role requires deep underwriting expertise, strong leadership, client and broker relationships, and a proven track record delivering profitable premium growth in wholesale distribution.

Qualifications

• 5-10+ years of commercial casualty underwriting experience, preferably within E&S or specialty insurance.
• Proven leadership of underwriting teams and regional operations.
• Strong technical underwriting with ability to evaluate complex risks.
• Experience driving profitable growth in wholesale distribution.
• Strong portfolio management, pricing, and profitability understanding.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Strategic mindset balancing growth, risk, and execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead underwriting operations and regional performance for the Southwest Zone.
• Develop regional business plans delivering profitable premium growth.
• Own regional production, profitability, portfolio management, and service objectives.
• Monitor regional KPIs, submission flow, hit ratios, pricing adequacy, loss trends, and portfolio performance.
• Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain a high-performing underwriting team.
• Develop and strengthen executive-level relationships with key wholesale brokers and strategic distribution partners.
• Execute company underwriting strategy and ensure consistent implementation across the region.
