Job summary

Akina Pharmacy in Sterling, VA seeks a VP of Pharmacy Operations to lead end-to-end operations from receipt to fulfillment, scale across locations, and own P&L. This in-person, full-time role demands 5+ years of pharmacy ops leadership and a proven ability to drive growth while ensuring regulatory compliance.

The candidate will partner with Quality & Compliance and the PIC(s) to sustain rapid expansion, maintain patient safety, and deliver exceptional service to providers and patients.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive pharmacy operations leadership experience.
• 5+ years of leadership of managers and building teams.
• Direct experience in 503A or 503B compounding operations.
• Experience in regulated healthcare production environments.
• Financial ownership of an operating function, including budgeting and P&L.
• Proven experience scaling operations and improving unit economics.
• Knowledge of USP compounding standards and state Board requirements.
• Experience leading operational change and system implementations.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end pharmacy operations from receipt through compounding, dispensing, and fulfillment.
• Ensure prescriptions move accurately, safely, and timely across all stages.
• Align production planning with order demand and turnaround requirements.
• Maintain compliance with USP standards, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement and accountability across teams and locations.
