  • Proven track record originating, structuring, and closing complex, multi-million-dollar strategic partnerships and business development deals.

Job description

  • Define and execute comprehensive business development strategy aligned with company's growth objectives, market expansion plans, and long-term value creation goals
  • Lead identification, evaluation, and pursuit of new business opportunities including strategic partnerships, enterprise client acquisition, channel ecosystem development, market expansion, business model innovation, and new revenue streams
  • Own strategic partnerships and new revenue streams; identify, evaluate, and negotiate multi-year, high-value deals with external partners that unlock significant scale, market reach, or product capabilities
  • Hunt, close, and scale net-new strategic partnerships that drive revenue, distribution, and/or product expansion across technology partnerships, channel alliances, integrations, co-selling agreements, and ecosystem relationships
  • Own full partner sales cycle: prospecting, outreach, qualification, value mapping, business case development, financial modeling, contract negotiation, and go-to-market execution
  • Engage executive stakeholders at prospective partners to build conviction and navigate multi-party, high‑stakes deals
  • Develop and maintain robust pipeline of prospective partners, strategic accounts, and business opportunities; establish strong relationships with industry leaders, processors, enablers, FinTechs, trade associations, and key influencers
  • Lead negotiation of key economic and structural terms including pricing, value allocation, risk sharing, governance, revenue splits, and partnership economics
  • Partner with legal to translate business intent into agreement language and preserve intended economics and governance structures
  • Work across finance, tax, legal, risk, compliance, product, supply, and operations to ensure partnership structures are viable, scalable, and aligned internally
  • Translate market opportunities and strategic priorities into scalable partnership structures for new markets, partners, and evolving business models
  • Drive market expansion initiatives including new geographic markets, new verticals, new customer segments, and new distribution channels
  • Lead corporate development activities including M&A origination, target identification, preliminary due diligence, valuation analysis, deal structuring, and integration planning
  • Develop business plans for partnerships including goals, timing, revenue and profit projections, resource requirements, and success metrics
  • Provide financial and strategic analysis related to company's funding, capital markets strategy, M&A, investment opportunities, and strategic partnerships
  • Build market‑ready offerings, enable Sales teams, develop partnerships and new revenue channels, and identify expansion opportunities across target ecosystems
  • Lead business model innovation initiatives including new pricing models, packaging strategies, monetization approaches, and commercial frameworks
  • Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with key players in target industries including system integrators, distribution partners, technology providers, and platform ecosystems
  • Negotiate and structure commercial agreements that deliver mutual value and support long‑term growth
  • Define and execute global commercial strategy that supports company objectives and revenue growth
  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize new market opportunities within target industries and verticals
  • Develop comprehensive go-to-market (GTM) plans to position company as leader in target markets
  • Become expert in company's products and market position; perform competitor analysis and SWOT assessments
  • Work closely with Sales and Marketing departments on key initiatives to ensure alignment and maximize impact
  • Travel to industry conferences, business development meetings, trade shows, and partner events to build relationships and identify opportunities
  • Onboard new partners and manage accounts of existing partners to ensure partnership success and value realization
  • Discover and develop new revenue sources for company through innovative partnerships and business models
  • Monitor performance of business development activities using key metrics; report to senior management on progress against targets
  • Build and lead high-performing business development team; recruit, train, mentor, and develop BD professionals
Typical Profile:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or related field required; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred
  • 18+ years of progressive business development, strategic partnerships, corporate development, enterprise sales, or market expansion experience
  • 10+ years in senior business development leadership roles (VP, SVP, Director) with revenue or P&L accountability
  • Deep expertise in business development strategy, strategic partnerships, alliance management, M&A, corporate development, and market expansion

  • Experience in relevant industry verticals (SaaS, technology, fintech, payments, robotics, automation, healthcare, life sciences, energy, manufacturing, logistics, real estate, multifamily/property management)
  • Strong negotiation, deal structuring, and commercial acumen with experience managing complex partnership agreements
  • Excellent stakeholder management and cross‑functional collaboration skills
  • Strategic thinker with hands‑on execution mindset; comfortable operating in fast‑paced, ambiguous, high‑growth environments
  • Strong relationship‑building and networking capabilities with extensive industry connections
  • Willingness to travel extensively (40–60%) for partner meetings, industry events, and stakeholder engagements
