Job summary

Citi is seeking a Senior Java Microservices Developer to design, build, and evolve distributed backend systems powering financial services globally. You will architect cloud-native Java microservices with Spring Boot and Kafka, delivering high-performance, reliable platforms.

Work with product managers and engineers to translate complex requirements into production-ready solutions, leveraging API Gateways, Service Discovery, and Circuit Breakers for resilience.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of hands-on Java development experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable Java microservices using Spring Boot.
• Build event-driven data pipelines with Apache Kafka.
• Develop cloud-native services with Spring Cloud components.
• Optimize data access with Spring Data JPA.
• Profile and tune service performance across latency and throughput.
• Lead code reviews for microservices best practices.
• Deploy and manage Docker containers and Kubernetes orchestration.
