Job summary

Citi in Pune/Chennai seeks an experienced Senior Java Developer/Lead to join our technology team. You will design, develop, and deploy robust, scalable Java applications using Core Java, Spring Boot, and microservices, with a focus on performance and reliability.

Responsibilities include system design, event-driven services with Kafka, SQL database optimization, containerization with ECS, and mentoring junior analysts within an agile environment.

Qualifications

• 8-12 years of professional experience in software systems analysis and programming.
• Deep, hands-on expertise in Core Java including concurrency and JVM internals.
• Extensive experience with Spring Framework/Spring Boot for enterprise apps and microservices.
• Strong experience with Kafka for event-driven architectures.
• Strong proficiency in SQL for database development and optimization.
• Good working knowledge of container technologies such as Docker and ECS.
• Solid experience with Agile development methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust, reusable Java code with focus on performance and multithreading.
• Develop and manage scalable microservices using Spring Boot framework.
• Participate in feasibility studies and IT planning for new/revised systems.
• Implement and manage messaging solutions using Kafka.
• Design and optimize database solutions with SQL.
• Monitor and control all phases of the development lifecycle.
• Utilize ECS for deployment in a cloud environment.
• Mentor junior analysts and contribute to Agile ceremonies.
• Ensure code quality and security best practices.
