Job summary

Affirm is seeking a VP, People Business Partners & Employee Relations to lead the global PBP and ER functions. As a strategic partner to the CPO, PLT, and XLT, you will shape the operating model, workforce strategy, and executive leadership decisions.

You will build high-performing teams, design organizations, guide leaders through major change, and ensure fair, scalable ER practices, partnering with Legal on employment policy and risk.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive People leadership experience in global tech organizations
• Experience leading a global PBP organization and building high-performing teams
• Experience leading Employee Relations, including sensitive investigations and executive matters
• Proven ability to partner with C-suite executives with independent judgment
• Deep expertise in organizational consulting, executive coaching, and workforce planning
• Strong business acumen and learning agility to understand complex businesses
• Sharp talent judgment and ability to assess executive capability
• Ability to anticipate organizational and workforce risks and opportunities
• Outstanding executive presence and emotional intelligence
• Sound judgment balancing business needs, employee impact, and risk

Responsibilities

• Define strategy, structure, and operating model for global PBP and ER functions
• Build high-performing PBP and ER teams with clear standards and accountability
• Develop trusted relationships with XLT members, advising on leadership and talent decisions
• Understand affirm's business and strategy to anticipate workforce implications
• Partner with XLT on workforce strategy, deployment, and leveraging AI
• Design organizations to clarify accountability and align resources with priorities
• Improve leadership decisions via talent planning, succession, and performance
• Guide leaders through major organizational change and alignment
• Set strategy and operating model for Employee Relations globally
• Provide executive oversight on complex ER matters and investigations
• Use ER data to identify risks and improve leadership effectiveness
• Partner with Legal on employment practices and risk management
