Job summary

Affirm is seeking a VP, People Business Partners & Employee Relations to lead global PBP and ER functions, advising the CPO, PLT, and XLT. This role shapes an enterprise-wide operating model and talent strategy in a remote-first environment.

You will build and guide high-performing teams, partner with executive leadership, and ensure scalable, fair employee relations practices across the organization. Base pay includes equity and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive People leadership experience in global technology organizations.
• Experience leading a global PBP organization with high-performing teams.
• Experience in Employee Relations, including sensitive investigations and executive matters in partnership with Legal.
• Proven ability to partner with C-suite executives and build trust with independent judgment.
• Deep expertise in organizational consulting, effectiveness, executive coaching, and strategic workforce planning.

Responsibilities

• Define strategy, structure, and operating model for global PBP and ER functions.
• Build high-performing PBP and ER teams with development and selective external hiring.
• Develop executive relationships with XLT members as strategic advisor.
• Understand affirm's business to anticipate enterprise-wide implications.
• Partner with XLT on workforce strategy and deployment of talent and tech.
• Design organizations and operating models that clarify accountability and speed.
• Improve leadership and talent decisions through planning and assessment.
• Guide leaders through major organizational changes to sustain outcomes.
• Set the strategy and operating model for Employee Relations globally.
• Provide executive oversight on complex ER matters and investigations.
• Use ER data to identify risks and translate into proactive actions for leadership and performance.
• Collaborate with Legal on employment practices and risk management.
