Job summary

Affirm is a remote-first company redefining how credit works in the U.S. We seek a leader to guide the global People Business Partners and Employee Relations functions, partnering with the C-suite to shape the operating model and talent decisions.

The VP will drive organizational effectiveness and enterprise-wide leadership strategies. The role requires substantial experience in global PBP and ER, with a focus on strategic workforce planning, risk management, and executive coaching.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive People leadership experience in global tech at scale.
• Experience leading a global PBP organization.
• Experience leading Employee Relations, including investigations and executive-level matters.
• Proven ability to partner with C-suite executives and maintain independent judgment.
• Deep expertise in organizational consulting, organizational effectiveness, executive coaching, and strategic workforce planning.
• Strong business acumen and learning agility.
• Sharp talent judgment and executive assessment.
• Ability to anticipate organizational risks and opportunities before they become obvious.

Responsibilities

• Define the strategy, structure, and operating model for global PBP and ER functions.
• Build high-performing PBP and ER teams through talent decisions, development, coaching, and selective external hiring.
• Build independent, trusted relationships with XLT members as a strategic advisor.
• Develop a deep understanding of affirm's business, strategy, and operating model to anticipate workforce implications.
• Partner with XLT on workforce strategy including size, composition, and deployment; identify how tech/AI can increase leverage.
• Help leaders design organizations and operating models that clarify accountability and speed up decisions.
• Raise leadership quality through talent planning, succession, and executive assessment.
• Guide leaders through significant organizational change and execution discipline.
• Set the strategy and operating model for Employee Relations globally.
• Provide executive oversight on ER matters, including investigations and conduct matters.
• Use ER data to identify risks and translate them into proactive actions.
• Partner with Legal on employment practices, policy, and risk management.
