Job summary

Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, with a remote-first culture across the country. The VP, People Business Partners & Employee Relations leads the global PBP and ER functions, partnering with the CPO and XLT to deliver enterprise-wide people strategies.

This role demands 15+ years in progressive People leadership within large-scale tech organizations, building high-performing teams, and guiding complex employee relations with integrity and strategic insight.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive People leadership experience in global tech environments.
• Experience leading a global PBP organization and building high-performing teams.
• Experience leading Employee Relations including sensitive investigations and executive-level matters.
• Proven ability to partner with C-suite executives and maintain independent judgment.
• Deep expertise in organizational consulting, effectiveness, executive coaching, and strategic workforce planning.
• Strong business acumen and learning agility to understand complex businesses quickly.

Responsibilities

• Define strategy, structure, and operating model for global PBP and ER functions.
• Build high-performing PBP and ER teams through talent decisions, development, and coaching.
• Develop trusted relationships with XLT members as strategic advisor on leadership and organizational decisions.
• Understand affirm's business and operating model to anticipate workforce implications.
• Partner with XLT on workforce strategy, including talent deployment and use of AI/ new operating models.
• Set strategy and operating model for Employee Relations globally with a fair, scalable approach.
• Provide executive oversight on complex ER matters and investigations.
• Use ER data to identify organizational risks and drive proactive actions.
• Collaborate with Legal on employment practices, policy, and risk management.
