Job summary

Bain & Company is seeking a Vice President, Enterprise Data Architecture to set the vision and strategy for the firm’s data architecture and platforms. You will lead senior architects, partner with data governance and security teams, and drive multi-year roadmaps across global functions.

You will own target-state architecture, define standards, and guide internal and external engineering teams, ensuring scalable, governed, and secure data foundations for analytics and AI across the firm.

Qualifications

• 10-15+ years of experience in enterprise data architecture and engineering.
• Track record of defining and delivering multi-year enterprise architecture roadmaps.
• Deep experience in data modeling and related architecture disciplines.
• Experience leading architecture and/or data modeling organizations.
• Experience directing distributed engineering teams and managing external technology partners.
• Demonstrated experience advising and influencing senior stakeholders and driving adoption of architecture standards at scale.
• Visionary technology strategist translating business strategy into a multi-year data architecture vision.
• Expert knowledge of enterprise data architecture, modeling, and modern data platforms.
• Excellent communication skills with senior leadership and cross-functional partners.
• Hybrid: in-office presence (1 day per week).

Responsibilities

• Set the vision and multi-year roadmap for the firm’s enterprise data architecture, platforms, and capabilities.
• Own the target-state data architecture and the standards and technology direction across the enterprise.
• Make and defend major architecture decisions balancing speed, cost, risk, and long-term flexibility.
• Provide senior technical leadership to internal engineering teams and external partners.
• Partner with governance, security, privacy, legal, and technology leaders to embed data requirements into architecture.
• Build alignment among senior leaders and promote reuse across functions and regions.
• Identify opportunities to apply data and AI capabilities and integrate agentic use cases.
• Mentor senior leaders, develop talent, and build succession for the function.
• Lead relationships with strategic data platform partners and benchmark against peers.
